Sorry I have not done my verse yet. Things with Papa kept me busy each Saturday. (not planned)
Little did I know that that verse would be mentioned at his funeral. It described my grandfather very well, and was one of his favorite verses.

With Grandpa gone many things will be different.
Last night it hit me (or I finally let myself) that my Papa will never be around anymore. I loved my Papa and he was one of my best friends… third on my list. (Jesus, My sister, PAPA.) I would go to him for advice, and prayer support.
However I could never wish him back. He is in a much better place. I will see him again one day.
His funeral went well. I wish I could have sang the song without as much tears, but I kept my Promise to Papa that I would sing his favorite song.
Now I must learn to live without his jokes, advice, prayer support, and friendship.
I miss you Papa, but I know we will be together one day again!
Wow, it’s December!
The day that grandpa died my oldest nephew said that I couldn’t die. He didn’t mention anyone else… just me. He wouldn’t know what to do without me. 🙂 He would be crushed.
No pressure. Unfortunately I have no control on when I die. I can only not “help” it. With my nephew, I won’t try to leave anytime soon.
Today I lost one of my closest friends… my grandpa. He was a great man who loved the Lord. He always had a smile, and was always telling jokes.
He will be greatly missed, but one day we will all be together with our Lord!
This was grandpa’s favorite hymn:
Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.
Love and miss you Papa!
