Esau *Growth. *Parents. *Nature

Deuteronomy 29:18-20 – Turning away. Don’t walk in the imagination of your heart. God takes failing His grace seriously.

Fornication and being a profane person are choices that cannot be taken back.  (Profane- soiled)

Esau was the kid who every parent would want/He was hunter.

A worldly-godless person. He lived outside of God’s provision.

 

WATCH OUT!! Parent against Parent. Jesus Paid it all. God can fix things that are broken.

 

1. Esau failed God’s grace concerning his future. (Gen 25:29-34) – Jacob is pity-less. Esau sacrificed his future on the alter on the immediate. He failed to see the seriousness of his decision. It was a sport to him to sell his birthright. He failed to listen to his conscience. He had no care for spiritual things.
2. Esau failed God’s grace concerning his friends. (Gen 26:34-35) Choose friends wisely. Your friends determine most things. Hebrews 12:12-15 Examine each other and yourself. By the grace of God, friends can be the greatest help to your life and outside His grace they can be the most detrimental influence.
3. Esau failed God’s grace concerning his Family (Gen 27:1-40) *Isaac and Esau’s scheme (1-5.) *Rebekah’s counter-scheme (6-17.) *The bitter fruit exposed (18-40.) NO ONE WON.
4. Esau failed God’s grace concerning his Forgiveness. (Gen 41-46)

Esau had the opportunity to completly uproot all the bitterness. He could’ve acknowladged God’s will. He could’ve subjected himself to his brother and honored God, but he chose to live in his bitterness.

Genesis 33:1-4

Esau came to terms with God. He made it right!

God forgives… why can’t you?

Let God have his way.

Notes from reading Song of Solomon:

 

Sos 1:7 “Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth” “Tell me” Asking God “Soul loveth” Whom we love the most. The Lord knows whom we will love, we must ask and wait on His timing.

 

Sos 2:7 “I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, til He please.” “Charge” – Dare or demand.

Leave out “my” and it says it like this: “nor awake love, til He please” This is what my study Bible had to say: “2:7 ’til He please!’ Better, until it (love) pleases. Let love develop naturally; do not force it.”

Don’t awake love before time. It will cause a mess.

 

Sos 3:4 “It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mothers house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.” Wait, and when you have him, don’t let him go. The Lord will lead you to, and give you the ‘right’ person. Just wait, listen, and obey.

 

Sos 4:3 “Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.” – “Speech in comely” Women should have soft, kind words. Not out of line/place. Be like the Proverbs 31:10-31 woman.

 

Sos 5:6 “I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.” Stuck out. The whole chapter was a fare-seer of after my wedding night. Things will be very different.

 

Sos 6:5 “Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.” He like her eye? If so, we should be very careful with our eyes even more.

 

Sos 7 All of this chapter was about Solomon thought of his wife’s body and features.

 

Sos 8 They longed to be together, and their love kept growing.

Jeremiah 10:10, 23-24

It was amazing. The two books I have read by her have changed my life in great ways.
